Cindy Weed | Wooden Jewelry
Cindy Weed of Enosburg, Vermont, DBA Jewelwood of Vermont, makes unique, one of a kind wooden jewelry and hair barrettes in her small studio in Enosburg Falls, Vermont.
Cindy began her woodworking career in the early seventies at the Montgomery Schoolhouse making children pine wood toys. In 1987, after years of creating a variety of wooden projects and helping her husband in his wooden sash windows and door business, she started making jewelry and barrettes full time.
For each piece that she designs, Cindy strives to highlight the inherent natural beauty of native and exotic hardwoods. She especially enjoys using local wood such as lilac wood, cherry burls and recycled woods from woodworkers’ cast offs. All of her unique, high-quality creations are accented with semi-precious stones, sterling silver, copper, brass and gold-filled embellishments. Cindy sells her earrings, barrettes, pins, necklaces, Bolo ties, tie clips and tacks and more at fine gift shops, galleries and craft shows.
In 1992, Cindy’s work was featured in Fine Woodworking’s Design Book #6.
