Josee Fauteux | Fiber Artist
I grew up in Stanstead, Quebec and for us girls who attended private school in the 80’s, it was customary to learn to knit, crochet and sew in Home Economics classes. I enjoyed knitting most in those years.
For many years, work and corporate moves took most of my time; as I prepared to retire, I was thrilled to have time to rekindle these techniques. To my surprise, knitting has become more than a hobby, and is now a passion of every day.
I am interested in anthropology and love learning about knitting in all cultures; my love of travel brings opportunities to discover techniques and purchase yarn and fibers from around the world.
Most pieces I choose to knit are interesting for their color choices, a new technique to learn or memories of places I have visited. Some pieces are created with inspiration from my “beyond a lifetime yarn stash”.
I hope you enjoy wearing these pieces as much as I have enjoyed knitting them.
