Michelle Marsh | Fiber Artist

As an elementary school art teacher, I have the pleasure of teaching and working with a wide variety of mediums including drawing, painting, clay, and more.  In my free time, I choose to work as a fiber artist, painting silk scarves and felting with wool.

I draw inspiration for my silk scarves directly from the plants and flowers that grow naturally in the fields and woods in Vermont.  Transparent silk paint is used to create these nature-inspired designs.

Nature is also my inspiration for the hand-felted hats.  I have my own alpaca and angora rabbits who supply me with a steady supply of fiber for my artwork.  I love to work with any fibers that appeal to me visually as well as tactilely.   The bases of my hats are always made from merino wool or alpaca fiber to ensure that they are comfortable and soft.
