Coming Wednesday, December 18

Evergreen Workshop at MAC

Thinking about decorating for the holidays? Wondering how to make new memories and Fun-lore to pass down to generations? We have the perfect unique experience to satisfy both!

On Wednesday, December 18th from 10:00-11:30 a.m., MAC Center for the Arts welcomes you to celebrate the holidays by creating a beautiful seasonal centerpiece made of local evergreens and festive materials. This is an activity for family members, friends and neighbors, so come with a parent or uncle, child or best friend.

Instructor, Betsy Day, will conduct the workshop in the MAC lower gallery. Workshop is limited to 25 participants and has a nominal fee of $10.00 per participant to cover supplies; ages 9-99 years welcome.

“Capturing Memoir Moments” at MAC Center for the Arts, Newport

Do you have an event, person or special place you have always wanted to write about? Or perhaps you enjoy writing but need time and structure to exercise your desire to write. This workshop will focus on writing short personal stories (memoirs) based on the writer’s experiences and memory of their chosen subject. We will use a variety of writing exercises and technique to draw out and enhance the essence and importance of each personal story.

All you will need is something to write on, notebook or paper, and your preferred pen, pencil or laptop.

Inspiration of Trees exhibit opens July 5th

The “Inspiration of Trees” exhibit opens July 5th with an opening from 5-7pm at the Memphremagog Arts Collaborative in Newport. The event, in collaboration with the Northwoods Stewardship Center, will include all mediums that use wood or are inspired by trees. The exhibit will remain open throughout the summer. Both the exhibit and event opening on July 5th are free and open to the public.

“There will be an independent art activity that visitors can do on their own and then take home,” said Victoria Mathieson, one of the member organizers.
